Official requirements for foreign teachers in China
In order to lift English education to higher levels, the Chinese government has, in recent years, implemented new rules for foreigners wishing to come to China and work as teachers of English. The following are key requirements set by the Chinese government and apply to all prospective applicants:

Native English speaker

Bachelor’s degree or above

120 hours TEFL/TESOL certificate

2 years of teaching experience
